Konserthuset 100 Years – Jazz with the Belleville Trio
About the concert
På svenskaThe young musicians of the Belleville Trio perform jazz in the style of Django Reinhardt.
Distinguished jazz with the Belleville Trio, featuring two guitars and clarinet. The Belleville Trio were summer musicians at Konserthuset in 2024 and draw inspiration from greats such as Django Reinhardt and Stochelo Rosenberg. They perform their own interpretations of classics in the jazz manouche style created in France by Django Reinhardt, sometimes referred to as “Gypsy jazz”.
This style of jazz rose to prominence during the 1930s and 40s – around the same time that the first jazz concerts began to be presented in the then newly built Konserthuset. The first jazz concert was presented at Konserthuset in March 1930.
The Belleville Trio consists of Victor Edlind and Malcolm Lindgren on guitars, with Olof Danfelter on clarinet and saxophone. Together, they take us on a journey to the Belleville district of 1940s Paris.
