See Mali’s superstars Amadou & Mariam and living legends the Blind Boys of Alabama at a unique joint concert. Swinging Afropop blues and gospel in a musical union of Bamako and Birmingham!

The collaboration between Amadou & Mariam and the Blind Boys of Alabama arose after the groups appeared at the same festival. They developed a strong friendship and recorded the singles “Bamako to Birmingham” and “Two Cultures, One Beat” which have been acclaimed worldwide.

The story of Amadou Bagayoko and Mariam Doumbia is modern music history – a love affair that led to two blind visionaries from Mali climbing up singles charts world-wide, winning countless awards and directing audiences’ attention to how life can look in Mali. With cult status, the Blind Boys of Alabama formed at what was known at the time as the Alabama Institute for the Negro Blind. The group has won numerous prestigious awards, including multiple Grammy Awards.

Hearing them together is an experience beyond the ordinary.
