A meeting place for lovers of Baroque music and today’s leading performers of the genre

This is the series for those who love early music. Orfeus Barock Stockholm continues to develop imaginative, themed programmes. We also welcome the France-based leading ensemble L’Arpeggiata, under the direction of Christina Pluhar and with Malena Ernman as vocal soloist. From Barcelona comes Elionor Martínez, who has frequently collaborated with the great Jordi Savall and is now one of this season’s ECHO Rising Stars.

Orfeus Barock Stockholm (pictured) was founded in 2015 and has established itself as one of the leading Nordic ensembles for early music. The ensemble brings together musicians from the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and distinguished freelance Baroque specialists. Its artistic directors are the orchestra’s principal cellist Johannes Rostamo and lutenist Jonas Nordberg. As guest directors, Orfeus Barock invites leading musicians from the Swedish and international early music scene.
