Monday at Last with soprano

Welcoming English soprano Ruby Hughes.

String trio ZPR was founded by Cecilia Zilliacus, violin; Johanna Persson, viola; and Kati Raitinen, cello. Monday at Last is a concert subscription in which ZPR invites guest musicians to explore new and old music together, often in close contact with the audience.

On this occasion, ZPR’s Cecilia Zilliacus and Kati Raitinen have invited two British guests. Soprano Ruby Hughes studied in England and Germany and has an international career on opera and concert stages alike. Pianist and composer Huw Watkins is acclaimed for several pieces; his Violin Concerto (composed for Alina Ibragimova) in particular has had enormous success.

At the time of this writing, the programme has yet to be set, but it would be reasonable to suppose that it will include music by Watkins.
