Swedish composers

Chamber and orchestra music by Swedish composers from the past and present. Performing Swedish music plays an integral part of the programming at Konserthuset Stockholm. New music is commissioned and premiered on a regular basis, which adds to the continuous exploration of historical Swedish repertoire.

XODUS

Dagens Nyheter described Xodus as ”musical delights and hair-raising beauty”. Many were there, but not all got a seat. How lucky then that the show was filmed by Konserthuset Play – experience Martin Fröst’s fascinating collaboration with the artist Jesper Waldersten.

Pettersson Symphony No. 7

The intensely emotional and gripping seventh symphony is Allan Pettersson’s most famous and beloved. The symphony was premiered in 1968 by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and it is here interpreted by its Conductor Laureate, Alan Gilbert.

Two String Quartets

Music by Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel and Swedish Andrea Tarrodi. The first one was inspired by Beethoven, the second by the way light disperses through glass.

Baroque trios and sonatas

A string trio of Philharmonic members is joined by harpsichordist Sam Crowther performing baroque music by Henry Purcell, Elisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre, Johan Helmich Roman and more.

Mozart, Hillborg & Shostakovich

All good things are three. High-class Mozart with pianist Angela Hewitt, Anders Hillborg's latest orchestral work and Shostakovich's Ninth Symphony. The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra plays under the direction of Sakari Oramo.

Organ Recital

Experience the grand concert hall organ in all its glory. In this concert film you will hear music by, among others, Valborg Aulin and Johann Sebastian Bach. Konserthuset Stockholm’s organist Ulf Norberg is performing.
