XODUS

A new performance with Martin Fröst in collaboration with artist Jesper Waldersten.

In recent years, clarinettist and conductor Martin Fröst has carried out a number of celebrated projects with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. With the performances Dollhouse, Genesis and Retrotopia (all three of which can be seen on Konserthuset Play), he expanded the concept of what a concert can be.

The Eric Ericson Chamber Choir also participates in his new performance, Xodus (The Way Out Lies Within). We can expect something of a mixed-media piece. Jesper Waldersten created the script in collaboration with Martin Fröst. Waldersten is familiar to many through his illustrations in publications such as Dagens Nyheter. The 2019 exhibition at Fotografiska entitled All Over presented examples of his incredible versatility.

Martin Fröst is the soloist and conductor. In parallel with his career as one of the world’s absolute foremost clarinet soloists, Fröst has also focused on conducting in recent years and he is the new chief conductor of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra – succeeding Thomas Dausgaard.
