Monday at last with Hörnlund and Parkes
ZilliacusPerssonRaitinen and guests in a richly varied programme.
In the Monday At Last concert subscription, which celebrated its 10-year anniversary last spring, string trio ZilliacusPerssonRaitinen welcomes guest musicians to perform new and old music together. ZPR consists of Cecilia Zilliacus, Kati Raitinen and Louisa Tatlow at this concert, Tatlow replacing Johanna Persson who due to illness has been obliged to cancel.
Guest-performing with the trio will be Emilie Hörnlund, section leader of the viola section in the Royal Court Orchestra and horn player Chris Parkes, section leader with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
The richly varied programme offers classical masterpieces such as Mozart’s exquisite Horn Quintet, written for Ignaz Leitgeb and Haydn’s Divertimento for horn, violin and cello. They will also highlight Rebecca Clarke, composer, violist, and one of the first professional female orchestral musicians in England, as well as a solo piece from 2005 by German clarinettist and composer Jörg Widmann.
There will also be a world premiere: a piece for solo cello by Swedish composer and pianist Johan Ullén. In the capacity of pianist he has, among other things, been Artist in Residence of the Swedish Radio. As a composer he has written chamber music, orchestral music, songs and operas, performed all around Sweden and internationally.
