Rising Stars – Amatis Piano Trio

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear tomorrow’s classical music stars today. In a unique and forward-looking partnership between 21 of Europe’s leading concert halls, six young musicians and ensembles from various countries are selected each year and given the opportunity to tour all of the concert halls and perform before an international audience. Experience shows that those who are selected as Rising Stars have internationally successful careers.

Just a few weeks after the formation of Amatis Piano Trio in 2014 the ensemble won the Audience Prize at the Grachtenfestival Competition in Amsterdam, which immediately led to an invitation from Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and subsequent concerts around the Netherlands.  The ensemble has now also completed tours of Hong Kong and Indonesia and regularly appears throughout Europe. In addition to the classic repertoire for piano trio, the ensemble is highly interested in contemporary music. At this concert, they will perform a new piece by Andrea Tarrodi, who was the focus of Konserthuset’s Composer Weekend in spring 2018.

The trio consists of German violinist Lea Hausmann, British cellist Samuel Shepherd and Dutch/Chinese pianist Mengjie Han.
