The multi-award-winning Simply Quartet was founded in Shanghai in 2008, but is primarily active in Europe. The quartet has performed at Musikverein in Vienna, Wigmore Hall in London, and Konzerthaus Berlin, in addition to numerous festivals. At their debut at Konserthuset Stockholm, they will perform Mozart, Dvorák and a new composition by Austrian Julia Lacherstorfer.

Mozart’s “Dissonance Quartet” earned its nickname thanks to the slow introduction’s dissonance and evasiveness. It is the last of the six quartets dedicated to Haydn, composed in the 1780s.

Julia Lacherstorfer (born 1985) is a versatile musician (violin and voice) and composer. She recently released the album Spinnerin (A female narrative), on which she sings and plays her own music. She composed a string quartet especially for Simply Quartet.

Dvorák’s last quartet was the fourteenth, which he began during his multi-year stay in the US and completed in Bohemia in the mid-1890s. It was a joyful homecoming and the music is generally filled with lightness and optimism – even if it seems to begin in darkness.

Simply Quartet was nominated for Rising Stars 2021/22 by Wiener Konzerthaus, Wiener Musikverein, Konzerthaus Dortmund and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.

Booking information

Konserthuset Stockholm temporarily introduces special seating plans for concerts. This is to ensure that we follow current regulations with a distance of at least one meter between all visitors in the hall. To create the greatest possible capacity and predictability, we only sell single seats, every other chair, both sideways and in depth. This means that if you go to the concert with a friend or a group, there will be an empty chair between you.
