Johan Dalene (born 2000) is a phenomenon. He has performed with leading orchestras – and for instance took part in last year’s Stenhammar festival at Konserthuset Stockholm. His first album, Nordic Rhapsody, was released on BIS Records. Dalene’s appointment by Konserthuset Stockholm to this year’s Rising Stars is thus as an artist who is already among the top emerging musicians.

Together with British pianist Nicola Eimer, he plays a repertoire of true violin sonata classics – as well as two more modern pieces. The sonatas by Beethoven, Ravel and Prokofiev are among the former category, of course, in every violinist’s core repertoire. Sibelius’ warmly lyrical Romance in F-major is taken from Four Pieces, Op. 78.

Tebogo Monnakgotla (born 1972) is one of Sweden’s most acclaimed composers of her generation. She has composed orchestral music, music drama, chamber music and vocal music. She has also composed music specifically for Johan Dalene for this Rising Stars tour.

The versatile Russian-American Lera Auerbach (born 1973) is a pianist, composer and author, and composed her 24 preludes according to Johann Sebastian Bach’s model, in which each short piece is in a new key and follows the circle of fifths. At the same time, in 1999, she also composed 24 preludes for piano and for cello and piano.
