Lied Concert with Röschmann
German soprano returns for the finale of this season's Lied series.
German soprano Dorothea Röschmann entered the international opera scene in 1995, in a performance of Susanna in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro at the festival in Salzburg. Since then, she has been considered one of Europe’s elite singers. She won a Grammy for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album and was appointed Kammersängerin at the Berlin State Opera.
Dorothea Röschmann appeared in her first lied concert at Konserthuset in 2021, which can be seen on Konserthuset Play. Since then, she debuted with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance in autumn 2022 of Wagner’s Wesendonck songs. Since first collaborating at Konserthuset, Röschmann and pianist Magnus Svensson have performed together elsewhere in the world.
Magnus Svensson has served as artistic director of Lied Evenings for several seasons. In addition to concerts in the Nordic region and elsewhere in Europe, he has also performed in Russia and the US. Since 2012, he has also worked at the Royal Swedish Academy of Music with re-publishing older Swedish music.
