Järvaveckan with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra
About the concert
På svenskaChief Conductor Ryan Bancroft leads the orchestra in popular classical favourites at Spånga IP.
Konserthuset Stockholm – the blue building by Hötorget – is heading out to Järvaveckan at Spånga IP, bringing along a selection of the music that fills the hall all year round. This year, Konserthuset celebrates its 100th anniversary! The building was inaugurated on 7 April 1926. Come and visit our tent to find out more about everything happening with us. You might even want to try your luck at the prize wheel for a chance to win tickets?
Konserthuset was built for the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. The orchestra was founded as early as 1902 and today comprises more than 100 musicians. At the concert during Järvaveckan, you can experience 24 of the musicians together with Chief Conductor Ryan Bancroft. The programme features some of classical music’s most beloved works, with melodies that many will surely recognise.
Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik brims with energy, while Fauré’s floating Pavane drifts dreamily. In Grieg we encounter Nordic playfulness, and Debussy’s Clair de lune seems to suspend time for a moment. The concert concludes with Tchaikovsky’s passionate and heartfelt Serenade – music that speaks directly to the heart.
