About the concert
På svenskaAn early summer concert in the sculpture park at Millesgården.
The success returns for a third year! Millesgården Museum, in collaboration with Konserthuset Stockholm, presents open-air concerts at Millesgården. Experience music, art and fine food in perfect harmony.
The gates to the sculpture park open well in advance of the concert, giving you time to enjoy the magic of Millesgården in early summer bloom. Enjoy a glass of sparkling wine or a light bite at the summer café outside Anne’s House, then find a spot where you can sit back and savour the music.
The programme opens with sparklingly beautiful Romantic music by the French composer Théodore Dubois and Chopin’s virtuosic variations on a theme by Rossini. We also hear nature-inspired music by Alexander Shymko, as well as a work by the participating harpist Agnieszka Kaczmarek-Bialic, and three brief, shimmering fragments for flute and harp by Witold Lutosławski.
The music is performed by the Polish Lorien Trio – an unusual combination of flute, viola and harp. Founded in 2004, the trio has appeared both throughout Poland and internationally at a number of festivals, and has also premiered several works written especially for the trio. Lorien Trio consists of flautist Alicja Lizer Molitorys, violist Aleksandra Batog and harpist Agnieszka Kaczmarek-Bialic.
The presenter is podcaster and cultural journalist Eric Schüldt, known for his personal and engaging style that both deepens and moves. The concert is presented with the support of Katowice Miasto Ogrodów.
