Brahms Requiem

External promoter: Wens Travel

Guest performance by The Berkeley Community Chorus

The Berkeley Community Chorus is a large, prominent choir based in California. The ensemble has performed many of the major choral works together with orchestras in the US and Europe. They previously toured with Dvorák’s Requiem, Mozart’s Mass in C Minor, Verdi’s Requiem and Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.

At this concert we will hear the choir with the Pro Musica Symphony Orchestra and Södertälje Symphony Orchestra in Brahms’ Requiem, the piece that catalysed his breakthrough as a significant composer. In the majestic requiem, Brahms expresses his conviction that death can be conquered and all survivors should thus feel hopeful and have trust.

This concert is the highlight and finale of a two-week tour during which the Berkeley Community Chorus also performed at the Alexela Concert Hall in Tallinn and the Riga Cathedral.
