The host of the concert is Jonathan Linsley, known as a cannoneer on the Flying Dutchman in the Pirates of the Caribbean films. We also hear the Ukrainian Chernivtsi Philharmonic Orchestra led by their chief conductor, Josyp Sozansky.

No other composer has impacted the world of cinema in the past two decades as much as Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy-winner Hans Zimmer. He gained renown for the music to Rain Man and ever since, he has infused countless Hollywood mega-hits with dramatic and emotional impact, leading to massive success. In 2018, Hans Zimmer received his eleventh Oscar nomination for the soundtrack to Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.

The audience also hears stories about how German-born Hans Zimmer conveyed an anti-apartheid message in the lyrics to a song from The Lion King, and how his idol and role model Ennio Morricone inspired him. We also hear Morricone’s iconic music from films such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and Once Upon a Time in the West.
