Tiken Jah Fakoly
About the concert
På svenskaAfrican Reggae Icon
Tiken Jah Fakoly is one of the foremost French-language reggae artists in the world. His ability to combine enthralling reggae rhythms with serious and engaging lyrics has made him an important voice for an entire generation of music lovers, who embrace the social and political issues he raises in his songs.
After a triumphant, sold-out world tour last year, Tiken returns and concludes Selam Festival Stockholm 2025 at Konserthuset Stockholm. With a new album and a unique acoustic tour surrounded by traditional West African musicians, he returns to 25 years of his music, including his greatest hits.
Acoustic is his sixteenth album and presents a scaled-back, organic soundscape, with no synthetic elements. As always, he gets straight to the point, elegantly and deeply rooted in his African identity. Tiken Jah Fakoly was born in Odienné, near the border to Mali and Guinea. On Acoustic, his focus is on the heart of music, poetry, and the many musicians who join him along the path.
