Inspiration Meeting for Professionals Working with Children and Young People

Welcome to an inspiring afternoon exploring the importance of music in the lives of children and young people – creating with and through music. A collaboration between Konserthuset Stockholm and the Music Consultants of Region Stockholm.

Registration from 14:30. Coffee, tea and cake will be served. Music will be performed by an ensemble of former Summer Musicians. The programme begins at 15:00.

Programme highlights

• Creative Schools project in Vaxholm with Orkesterpop. Christina Nilsson, Head of Culture for the Municipality of Vaxholm, together with David Shutrick and Mija Folkesson, will talk about how children created their own songs with Orkesterpop and later performed them together in concert.
• Young musicians share their experiences. Young musicians will talk about their experiences and the significance of their summer employment at Konserthuset Stockholm, as well as their continued involvement with the organisation.
• Craft and Music. Craft artist Vera Westberg will present and talk about her sound weave, a textile artwork she has created.
• Songs at Ear Level. Musician and dancer Helene Don Lind will introduce her new book. The session will include rhythm exercises and dancing with the audience.
• Creating School Concerts for Children. Ayla Kabaca and Klas Backman will discuss how to create school concerts for children and how to engage with them on their own terms.

Evening Concert at a Special Price

Following the Inspiration Meeting, you will have the opportunity to attend the evening concert at 19.00 – Beatrice Rana Plays Brahms – at a special price. The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Manfred Honeck. Read more about the concert here. The event is free of charge and registration is binding.

Cancellations must be made no later than 12.00 on 20 October by emailing skola@konserthuset.se Failure to cancel will result in a no-show fee of SEK 300.
