Co-Principal Trumpet

with obligation to play American and German trumpet, piccolo trumpet, cornet, and flugelhorn

Audition repertoire:

• Joseph Haydn Trumpet Concerto, Mvt I, II without cadenza, on an American Bb trumpet
• Orchestral excerpts
• Ensemble excerpts

The audition takes place at Konserthuset Stockholm, May 29-30, 2023, after personal invitation. Applications close April 1, 2023. To apply, please supply your CV using the following application link on Muvac:

Most applicants will be asked to supply pre-recordings of the repertoire below, with exceptions taken only for candidates with sufficient merits or where the jury knows the candidate well enough to deem this not necessary. If you are not certain whether a prerecording will be necessary or not, please send us an email with your CV to auditions@konserthuset.se and we will let you know.

Applicants who need to, and who have not already supplied a recording by April 1 will be notified around April 7 and then given two weeks to do so.

The pre-recordings should be recorded in one take, without any cuts or edits and while remaining in frame for the duration of the video. We recommend the usage of an external microphone for sound quality purposes. The pre-recordings should be played on American trumpets.

Orchestral and ensemble excerpts will be sent out with the invitation. The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra use both American and German trumpets, depending on the program.
