Rising Stars is a unique and forward-looking collaboration between 22 of Europe’s leading concert halls, all members of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO). Six young musicians and ensembles from various countries are selected each year and given the opportunity to tour the concert halls and perform before international audiences.
Don’t miss the opportunity to hear tomorrow’s classical music stars today. Experience shows that those who are selected as Rising Stars also have internationally successful careers. This year’s Rising Stars will be presented during an intensive weekend of chamber music at Konserthuset Stockholm.
Ukrainian-born violinist Diana Tishchenko, nominated by Cité de la Musique/Philharmonie de Paris and Casa da Música, Porto, has been acclaimed in recent years in European press for her distinctive technique, unique sound and original interpretations. She studied under Ulf Wallin at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and received great acclaim for her degree concert – a performance with the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester of Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 2.
Here, she appears in a masterful programme featuring Gubaidulina’s musically inquisitive Dancer On A Tightrope, Schubert’s last piece for violin and piano, Fantasy in C Major, and a new piece by Portuguese composer Vasco Mendonça (commissioned by ECHO).
