Sound and Vision – OrganSpace Festival
The magnificent Konserthuset organ and the award-winning organist Johannes Skoog are part of the international organ festival in Stockholm.
OrganSpace is Stockholm’s international organ festival, held every other year. From 11 to 14 September, concerts will take place with nine outstanding organists performing at Konserthuset Stockholm, Stockholm City Hall, various churches around the city, and the former nuclear reactor hall at the Royal Institute of Technology.
The weekend also includes a youth camp at the Royal College of Music and a children’s day with workshops. This is a unique opportunity to experience some of the city’s magnificent organs played by musicians of the highest international calibre!
In this concert, we hear Johannes Skoog, choir director and organist at Hedvig Eleonora Church in Stockholm. In 2024, he won first prize at the world’s largest organ competition, the CIOC – Canadian International Organ Competition – in Montreal, Canada. He trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and previously served as organist at Västerås Cathedral. Since 2024, he has led the Hedvig Eleonora Vocal Ensemble.
