Philharmonic Day

The annual public celebration when Konserthuset opens its doors and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra offers world-class music – entirely free of charge, a tradition spanning more than 40 years!

In the Main Hall, the orchestra gives several concerts throughout the day – this year together with Chief Conductor Ryan Bancroft. There will, of course, also be a sing-along concert, where the audience is invited to join in with classical favourites alongside the orchestra.

Chamber music fills Grünewald Hall. In addition to the concerts, visitors can join guided tours backstage and experience the mighty Konserthuset organ with its 6,100 pipes up close.

For children and families, a day of both play and learning awaits. The programme includes several children’s concerts, a popular conducting school where children can try leading real musicians, and instrument try-outs throughout the day. Konserthuset’s main sponsor SEB will also host a painting corner for children, open all day.
