Shamanic Sensibility of Gayageum

Shamanic Sensibility of Gayageum is a staged concert by the Korean musician Park Seyoun, a leading performer on the gayageum – a traditional Korean string instrument with a long history. Here, traditional sounds are interwoven with contemporary musical expression in a work inspired by Korean ritual and shamanic traditions.

Through a personal and expressive approach, Park Seyoun explores the instrument’s possibilities beyond its conventional role. Music and movement interact in an intense and meditative sonic landscape that shifts between stillness and force, between the ancient and the contemporary – a concentrated and evocative experience in which sound, movement and presence are at the fore.
