Yasukazu Kano and Mattias Lindberg – Prayer for Peace

Experience an exciting musical encounter between the traditional Japanese bamboo flute shinobue, improvisation, jazz, and Nordic soundscapes. For the fourth time, Yasukazu Kano visits Sweden as part of his ongoing musical collaboration with jazz pianist and composer Mattias Lindberg. The concert Prayer for Peace can be described as a musical dialogue between Japan and Sweden, characterized by presence, freedom, and reflection.

Yasukazu Kano has performed internationally and recently released the album World Peace through Yamaha. Mattias Lindberg studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and works as a freelance jazz pianist and composer in Stockholm. He regularly collaborates with several of Sweden’s leading jazz musicians.

Together, they perform both newly composed works and improvised musical encounters in which tradition and contemporary expression are interwoven. The concert moves between stillness and energy, intimacy and spontaneity, offering the audience an atmospheric and genre-crossing musical experience.
