Share our dream for the next season

This spring has been unlike anything we’ve ever experienced and the world as we know it may never be the same again. We are filled with uncertainty, with so many questions, and few answers – but in times like these, our dreams are more important than ever.

From the crisis the world is currently going through, something beautiful will also emerge: the importance to people of culture and community. With our new live stream offering, you – our audience – have singularly clarified your love of music, and we are deeply moved and incredibly grateful for your enormous response!

Now we are looking ahead and eagerly awaiting the day when we can welcome you back for all of the wonderful music we have prepared for you. We hope it will soon be possible to come together for the shared experience of live music in our beautiful venue.

Our world of music

Our new 20/21 concert season is filled with musical highlights that we hope to share with you. Right now, you can reserve a seat for one of our 20 different subscriptions, each at 25% off compared to the regular ticket price.

As always, our orchestra – the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra – will be at the centre along with chief conductor Sakari Oramo, for whom 20/21 will be the final season in this role. This is cause for a truly jam-packed finale season – including a spectacular Sibelius Festival as the season’s crowning glory. And of course, there will be even more than that: jazz, music for children, organ, chamber music …

Frequently asked questions regarding the 20/21 concert season

The circumstances are unusual and there are many questions about the coming season. Below are some of the most common questions.

Do I really dare to reserve a subscription now, when everything is so uncertain?

Sure! Our subscriptions are all based on an open purchase policy this year. You can change your mind and cancel your entire subscription up until a week before the first concert in your subscription is scheduled. We will refund the entire amount.

I am fond of the idea of a subscription. But I’m over 70 and I don’t know when I will be able to attend a concert again … Is there a solution?

There is indeed! For the 20/21 season, we are offering free cancellations of individual subscription tickets up until noon on the day of the concert. This means you can schedule a subscription, but easily stay home from one or more concerts if you feel sick, concerned, or if the government agencies’ recommendations remain in place. In this case, this portion of the subscription will be refunded to a gift voucher and you can use the money for a concert on a later occasion – or even to purchase a subscription for the following season.

How will Konserthuset ensure that my visit is safe?

We will create a safe environment for visitors by thoroughly following recommendations and guidelines. We will provide clear instructions about how to best be considerate of one another in our spacious foyers and we will make sure it is possible to maintain physical distance in the concert halls as well. All procedures at entrances, wardrobes, kiosks and toilets will be adapted to ensure the safety of your visit.

Everything is cancelled right now – is Konserthuset going to be able to give concerts to live audiences in the autumn?

The simple and honest answer is: we don’t know. It depends on how things develop and the recommendations of government agencies. But we plan to! We hope to be able to see you here at the venue soon for the musical experiences that we are all eagerly awaiting.

We are proud of our programme for next season and we hope to be able to carry it out as close to carry out the programme as close to the original as possible. We are following developments closely and are prepared for the fact that we may need to make some adjustments.

For example, there could be a situation in which we can present public events, but perhaps not exactly as we had planned and communicated, due to guidelines or other circumstances. In this case we hope for your understanding, as we may need to make modifications with regard to repertoires and participants, and perhaps in other ways as well.

Our promise is that in every imaginable situation, we will do our utmost to ensure that our offering corresponds with your expectations to the best of our ability.

What will happen if the concerts are cancelled anyway?

If we are forced to cancel concerts in your subscription (for example because of governement decisions regarding limitation of visitors) you will be fully refunded this part of your subscription amount, just as before. You may choose to have the amount refunded to a gift voucher if you would prefer.
