The concert production with dramatic staging Cisad – Gaat – created by Sohrab Pournazeri and produced by Tahmores Pournazeri, explores themes of resistance, cultural heritage, and the safeguarding of Iran’s territorial integrity. Premiered in 2024, it was performed for 33 consecutive nights at Tehran’s Sa’adabad Palace – a historic royal complex now serving as a cultural landmark – and drew an audience of more than 140,000.

Set six years after the Mongol invasion of Neyshabur, the work tells the story of the people of Shiraz and their defiance against the advancing army. The Mongols threaten to conquer Takht-e Jamshid, destroy the legendary Jaam-e Jam, and erase the Persian language from the land. Through music, drama, and striking visual imagery, Gaat portrays the struggle to defend both homeland and culture, where identity and survival are inextricably linked.

The project offered a vivid cultural portrait of Iran’s national treasures to the world and reminded a younger generation of the values of self-reliance. After its triumph in Tehran, Gaat toured twelve cities across the United States and Canada, reaching more than 50,000 spectators and carrying its message of resilience and cultural pride to an international stage.
