Stockholms Musikgymnasium – Autumn Concert
About the concert
På svenskaExternal organiser: Kungsholmens Gymnasium/Stockholms Musikgymnasium
Stockholms Musikgymnasium once again invites audiences to its annual autumn concert at Konserthuset Stockholm. The music school’s nearly 300 young singers present a varied programme featuring music from countries around the Baltic Sea. We are also delighted to welcome classes 9A and 9B from Adolf Fredrik’s Music School Norrmalm as special guests.
Stockholms Musikgymnasium was founded in 1959 as a natural continuation of Adolf Fredrik’s Music School and has been based in Kungsholmens Gymnasium’s historic building near Fridhemsplan since 1984. Its students combine extensive musical training with either the Natural Science Programme or the Social Science Programme. In addition to the class choirs, the school also has its own chamber choir.
The school’s choral programme enjoys an excellent reputation both in Sweden and internationally. Its choirs regularly collaborate with organisations including the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Stockholm Concert Orchestra and Stockholm Wind Symphony. They perform in churches and concert venues such as Berwaldhallen and Eric Ericsonhallen, and each year give a popular and well-attended Lucia concert in the Blue Hall at Stockholm City Hall.
