Georgia Mohammar Lind
Member of the orchestra since 1975.
Georgia Mohammar Lind was born and raised in California in the US, and first studied at the California Institute of the Arts. She began her career as a freelance musician in California.
Mohammar Lind has been a flutist with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 1975. She has also been a member of the Stockholm Sinfonietta for years and has worked on several chamber music projects, including the philharmonic’s chamber quintet and the wind quintet Helios. She has appeared as a soloist both in Sweden and internationally, and is also represented on many recordings.
Georgia Mohammar Lind plays all four instrument types: transverse flute, piccolo, alto flute and bass flute. For example, she played bass flute on Tan Dun’s Water Concerto and Paper Concerto, which are recorded on DVD (Opus Arte) with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra under the composer’s baton.
