About the concert

På svenska

One of the most captivating voices in jazz today – an artist who moves with integrity between eras, genres and expressions.

Cécile McLorin Salvant has appeared at Konserthuset on a handful of occasions since her debut in 2017, most recently in autumn 2024. She now returns with her own band, led by the recently Grammy Award-winning pianist Sullivan Fortner.

Salvant’s artistry is shaped by a passion for storytelling – from vaudeville and blues to Baroque music, folk traditions and modern jazz. As both musician and visual artist, she brings together past and present. The legendary soprano Jessye Norman described Cécile McLorin Salvant as “a unique voice supported by intelligence and full musicality”, and it is precisely in the interplay between intellect and spontaneity that her artistry takes form.

She has received three Grammy Awards for Best Jazz Vocal Album – The Window, Dreams and Daggers and For One To Love. With the album Ghost Song (2022), her artistic expression deepened further, and the album was nominated for two Grammy Awards.
