Piano Solo – Beatrice Rana

Beatrice Rana is one of the most sought-after soloists on the international concert stage and appears with leading orchestras throughout Europe and the United States. In October, she performs Brahms’s Second Piano Concerto with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and Manfred Honeck.

She also gives regular solo recitals and is acclaimed both for her interpretations of Johann Sebastian Bach’s music and for her performances of the great Romantic and Impressionist repertoire.

This concert opens with music by Bach, followed by six of Claude Debussy’s visionary Études for piano, dedicated to the memory of Frédéric Chopin. Fittingly, we also hear two of Chopin’s deeply expressive and dramatic nocturnes, before the programme concludes with his lyrical yet turbulent Ballade in F major, the second of the four he composed.
