Åsa Normell

Member of the orchestra since 1995.

Åsa Normell has been a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 1995. She studied at the Music Conservatory in Falun and under Thorvald Fredén and Håkan Ehrén at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.

Åsa made it to the semifinals of the 1996 Swedish Soloist Prize competition and been awarded several scholarships and prizes: the Johannes Norrby Scholarship, Hjördis Schymberg Award, and the Bo Linde Scholarship, which is presented by Gävle Municipality. She has also received several major scholarships from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music.

In addition to her regular position with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Åsa takes part in Philharmonic Up-Close and Soup Concert performances.
