Michael Streijffert

Member of the orchestra since 1989.

Michael Streiffert has been a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 1989. He began his path as a musician with the Royal Swedish Navy Band, previously Regionmusiken. He took classes with Håkan Hardenberger, Claes Strömblad and Urban Agnas and subsequently began his studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.

In addition to his position with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Michael spent 15 years teaching in the music teacher track at the Piteå School of Music. He now teaches at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He has also appeared as a soloist with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in Vivaldi’s Concerto for two piccolo trumpets.

Michael is from Rödeby outside of Karlskrona, where he performed in the music school’s orchestra under the baton of legendary brass instrument profile and school orchestra conductor Kjell Okmark. He shares this experience with his trumpet section colleague, Mikael Nilsson.
