Sergey Putnikov

Member of the orchestra since 2024.

Sergey Putnikov has been a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra’s second violin section since 2024. He was born in Moscow, where he studied at the conservatory under Sergey Girshenko. He later continued his education abroad at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin.

His principal teachers in chamber music were Tigran Alikhanov and Jonathan Aner. He has also participated in masterclasses with Robert Kulek, Dirk Mommertz, Martin Funda, Heime Müller, Antoine Tamestit, and the Boulanger Trio.

From 2018 to 2022, he played in the first violin section of the Russian National Orchestra under the direction of Mikhail Pletnev – an experience that had a major influence on his musical development. Since 2022, he has been active in Sweden and Germany, and has among other things been a member of the Goldmund Trio.
