Peter Lysell

Member of the orchestra since 2010.

Peter Lysell has been a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 2010. He has previously played with the Royal Swedish Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

After playing electric bass in various rock, pop and jazz groups, Peter Lysell made the switch to double bass and playing with a bow. He studied at the Music Conservatory in Falun from 1991–1993 with Lars Ekström, followed by the Royal College of Music from 1993–1995 with Thorvald Fredin and philharmonic musician and section leader Håkan Ehrén.

In addition to his position with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Peter Lysell participates in numerous contexts, including Konserthuset’s chamber music subscriptions Philharmonic Up-Close and Soup Concerts.
