Making history. Mahler before Mahler. Gustav Mahler’s monumental
early work is performed for the very first time by the Royal Stockholm
Philharmonic Orchestra. Chief Conductor Ryan Bancroft leads the
orchestra, four vocal soloists, the Eric Ericson Chamber Choir and an
ensemble from the Swedish Armed Forces Music Corps in the rare
work Das klagende Lied. Also on the programme: Sofia Gubaidulina’s
magical Fairy Tale Poem and newly composed festive music by
Tebogo Monnakgotla.
