Kurt Elling Quintet
Kurt Elling is one of the world’s top jazz vocalists. The New York Times has called him the standout male jazz singer of our time. Here, we get to experience him at a coveted return to Konserthuset Stockholm.
American singer Kurt Elling consistently tops the ranks of the best and most popular jazz musicians. He has been nominated for 10 Grammy Awards and his wins include the prestigious category of Best Jazz Vocal Album. At this concert, he performs with his quintet: Stuart Mindeman on piano, John McLean on guitar, Clark Sommers on double bass and Ulysses Owens Jr. on drums.
Together, they offer an eventful performance for all lovers of vocal jazz. And it is easy to agree with the Washington Post’s jazz critics, who exclaimed that no other jazz singer today is as daring, dynamic or as interesting as Kurt Elling. Here, he presents a programme with songs such as Lawns by Carla Bley, Terre Roche’s Star of Wonder, U2’s Where the Streets Have No Name, and classics such as Little Drummer Boy and Skylark.
